not conforming by the world

After the struggle sketch from yesterday, I found out that my struggles are mainly from my surroundings like working environment (co-worker interactions), financial instability, career goal, serving role at church and family planning, etc. There are quite a lot of values come from the world or the society where I live in. I was confused and lost my sight on God.

So I drew what I felt at that time. My subject matter is always tree trunk/tree form which I found fascinating because the tree branches are always pointing to the sky (of course, the photosynthesis). But for me, the tree branches are like hands and they are worshiping our Almighty God. The tree is fighting again the globe (world value system) even pressing through the roots out from the globe and destroy the top portion of the globe.

Then, my wife reminds me about the scriptures from Romans 12:1-2 –
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
